Interface is holding an InstallFest on Saturday 10th March (the second Saturday after trimester 1 clubs' day), from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in CO341]. If you want to try Linux (or *BSD), bring your computer (and peripherals, including monitor, if possible) along and we will install it for you and show you how to use it. We may also be able to help with problems with existing Linux systems.

If you have important data on your computer or want Linux installed alongside an existing operating system (such as Microsoft Windows), please make sure that you have an up-to-date backup. It would also be helpful if you could resize your existing partitions to make room for Linux, but we can help you do this if you prefer. Checking your hard drive for errors and defragmenting it would also be a sensible (though not vital) preparation, if you know how to do so.

=== [http://interface.org.nz/wiki?action=edit&id=SignUp200701 SignUp] === Please use the above link if you intend to come; just add your name and as much of a useful description of the machine you are bringing and what you want us to do as possible. This will help us know how many people and what to expect.

Interface members should look at /Planning.
