There will be a GPG KeySigningParty during the IWM on Wednesday 2nd May from 6:30 pm. A key] party] is an event where a group of people verify each other's identities and OpenPGP public key fingerprints so that they can sign each other's keys and build the web of trust.
OpenPGP is a cryptography standard (RFC]). It is primarily used to sign and encrypt email. GPG is a popular free implementation of the OpenPGP standard.
If you want to participate, please add your key ID to the list below before 4:00 pm on 2-5-2007 and make sure that your public key is available from the subkeys.pgp.net keyservers. This list will be used to generate the event keyring. If you do not add your key ID, you will not be able to have your key signed. Therefore, if are interested but are not sure whether you will be able to come, please add your key ID anyway.
If you are interested in using GPG but do not yet have a key, feel free to come to an IWM sometime before the KeySigningParty and ask someone how to get set up.

Bring:
- At least one form of official photo ID (e.g. passport, driving license). More ID is better.
Your key fingerprint (e.g. ECFC CB51 6D85 EC15 1C51 8EB1 68EB 1D11 EF4D 5E4C), written on a piece of paper. Be very careful that it is correct and nobody has interfered with it.
- A pen.
If people are interested in getting CAcert points (http://www.cacert.org/), this could be done too, but it's less useful unless several people with enough CAcert points to give some to others turn up. (I can give 15 points - SamV)
