Network Access
- Someone needs to contact one of the programmers to make sure we have network access on the day
- First check to see if old port still works (if so, nothing further needed)
This was done last time by submitting a bug report to bugs@mcs.vuw.ac.nz (jobs@mcs.vuw.ac.nz may be better)
- Mark Davies set up port 003 in this way (1730, 2007-03-09) -- this may still work
- Testing this would probably be a good idea
- set up ethernet port on laptop as:
- iface eth0 inet static
- address 130.195.11.240
- netmask 255.255.255.0
- network 130.195.11.0
- broadcast 130.195.11.255
- # ifup eth0
- plug network cable into laptop (test cable as working in Memphis)
- $ ping 130.195.11.127
- plug other end of network cable into a port in the room, wait ~10s for response (while ping command was still continuing)

- External hard drive for storing disk images
- Spare monitors, keyboards, mice, modems
- Switches, extension cords and plug boards
- Network cables
On The Day
- at ~9am, take stuff up to CO341, in paticular SWANS access point + power boards.
- check Interface port -- one way to do this is to plug the access point into it, wait a few seconds, then see if you can connect to SWANS over wireless
Attendance
- It helps if someone is at Vic at 0900 to set things up, and sort out last minute things (like making sure the caretakers are aware that we have booked a room)
